Mindfulness is the gentle effort to be continuously present with experience. If you pay attention in the moments as they pass, you live more richly in those moments. Jon Kabat-Zinn’s definition of mindfulness:
“Mindfulness is about love and living life. When you cultivate mindfulness, it gives you clarity and compassion for life, and your actions are in accordance with that.”
Jon Kabat-Zinn, is a well known teacher of mindfulness meditation and the founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.

SELF COMPASSION

The art of self-compassion is being aware in the present moment when one is experiencing feelings of stress or confusion, responding with kindness and understanding, holding ourselves in loving awareness, leading to greater ease and well-being within ourselves. As the Dalai Lama says: “Self-compassion is the first step toward compassion for others.’
